Ubiquity: Command the Web with Language
Ubiquity is an experimental interface for the browser, allowing users to control the web with language. The presentation will include demos for end users and developers to experience the power and extensibility of the Ubiquity platform. Particular focus will be placed on the difficulties of working with natural language as well as Ubiquity’s natural language processing and localization efforts. Ubiquity was a Mozilla Labs experiment that was in development from 2008 to 2009. Its purpose was to explore whether a radically different type of interface to the Web — a task-centric, natural-language-based command line — could help us get common Web tasks done faster.
