家中来客,必要做些鱼虾才显得郑重其事,母亲说这是惯例也是体面,总不能拿家常小炒招待客人。做海鲜菜的烹饪过程也很正式,鱼虾美味在一个鲜字上,当天采购当天下锅,过期不候。清晨的早市,鱼贩摊前的鲜虾活蹦乱跳,装在塑胶袋里拎回家,一路上发出细碎声响。所以要买到好虾,必要起一个大早,这个买是专为特定的人而买,起心动念全是为着特定的人,足够郑重了吧。
家里多佛教徒,要在指定的日子里吃斋,倘若这一天恰好来了客,又不好怠慢,所以要去街上买三净肉(眼不见杀、耳不闻杀、不为己所杀)。而虾又不得不鲜,我那可爱的二姥姥便在菜场念念有词,小声念起往生咒来,我见状总是忍俊不禁。
