Install Latest Flash 10 in Ubuntu Linux 64 bit Edition

This tutorial shows how you can install the Adobe Flash plugin 10 on an Ubuntu 9.10 desktop. Although this sounds quite trivial, there are a few problems along the way, especially if Flash 9 is already installed.


Check the current version

Fire a Firefox and type

about:plugins

in the address bar to verify the flash version, if it is not 10, then you will need to following the rest of steps

Run the following code in CLI

Copy the following script and save it to something like

on you desktop

Open terminal and type the following command to install Flash 10 under 64 bit edition (please exit any browsers you may have running):

The best place is Adobe website where you can also find out more about Flash 10, alternatively you can visit Youtube to see flash videos.
